This was confirmed by Land Rover Program Director Nick Miller in an interview that hints at a possible EV derivative. Miller even said that the battery-electric powertrain will get hydrogen complimentary as the legendary SUV plans to go carbon neutral by 2036.

Land Rover has previously tested fuel cell technology and is already testing a hydrogen system integrated into the Defender prototype. Land Rover is not far from a viewable prototype. That doesn’t mean there won’t be an EV version of the Range Rover as the world moves towards EVs. The Range Rover EV will actually have two electric motors and an output that will be on par with the most recent model with an internal combustion engine.
