“I love you Zimbabwe”: Fake Mr Bean issues statement after Pakistan’s defeat in T20 World Cup

The “Fake Mr. Bean” dressed just like the real one and was even seen with his teddy bear.

For the past few days, cricket fans in Zimbabwe and Pakistan have been engaged in a war of words over the “Mr Bean controversy”. For those unaware, even before the T20 World Cup match began on Thursday, a few tweets from Zimbabwe fans sending “Fake Mr. Bean” to their home country had triggered a plethora of reactions on social media. The President of Zimbabwe also trolled Pakistan after Zimbabwe beat Pakistan by one run and advised the country to send the real Mr. Bean next time.

Now, after much uproar, “Fake Mr. Bean” has spoken out about the incident and issued an official statement. In a video going viral on Twitter, Pakistan Mr Bean named Asif Muhammad is shown praising Zimbabwe. He mentioned his love for the people of Zimbabwe, Pakistan and other countries. He also said that the match between the two sides was a tough game.

Talking about how it all started, a The name of Zimbabwean fan is Ngugi Chasur Responding to photos of the Pakistan team’s training session, he said, “As Zimbabweans, we will not forgive you. You once gave us that cheating Pak Bean instead of Mr. Bean Rowan.. We will settle the matter tomorrow. That’s it. Pray that the rain save you”.

In the following tweet, Mr Chasura also shared an image of Mr Bean doppelganger, saying “This is …. Pak Bean who imitates Mr Bean while stealing people’s money”. This started a tug of war on Twitter. Even the government heads of both the countries took to Twitter after the game over the same controversy.

While the President of Zimbabwe launched a scathing attack on Pakistan in his cryptic congratulatory tweet, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif replied, “We may not have the real Mr. Bean, but we do have real cricketing spirit.. and we Pakistanis have a strange habit of bouncing back 🙂 Mr President: Congratulations. Your team played really well today “.

Meanwhile, coming back into the match, Zimbabwe could manage only 130/8 in 20 overs. However, their bowlers restricted Pakistan to 129/8 for a memorable win in the Super 12 match at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.
