IAF Bomb Threat: IAF Scrutinizes Jets After ‘Bomb Suspected’ in Iranian Airspace in Indian Airspace India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Indian Air Force Fighters blew up on Monday after a bomb threat intercepted an Iranian passenger plane bound for Guangzhou, China.
According to the IAF, security agencies in Delhi had received information about the possibility of a bomb in a civilian Mahan Air flight, prompting an alert.
The incident happened in the morning when Flight W581 was taking off over Indian airspace.
The Indian Air Force, in a statement, said that upon receiving information, it deployed a fighter aircraft and pursued the passenger flight maintaining a safe distance.
“The aircraft was given the option of landing at Jaipur and then Chandigarh. However, the pilot declared his reluctance to fly to either of the two airports,” the IAF said.
It said Tehran later asked the authorities to defy the bomb threat, after which the passenger flight continued its journey towards Chana.
“The aircraft was under close radar surveillance by the Air Force throughout Indian airspace,” the statement said.
