ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023: India vs Pakistan, full schedule, teams, live streaming, all you need to know

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 begins next Friday (February 10) in Cape Town and 10 teams will clash between February 10 and 26. The eighth edition of the tournament will be played across three venues in South Africa – Cape Town, Paarl and Gekberha.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s team South Africa are expected to put up a better show after losing the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. There is a good mix of spin and pace options including the likes of Deepti Sharma, Renuka Singh and Radha Yadav, while the batting is potent with exceptional batsmen like Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma.

Three venues across South Africa will be used for the T20 World Cup. The event will begin on 10 February at Newlands, Cape Town, which will also host the semi-finals and final. Boland Park in Paarl, and St George’s Park in Gkebera, are other venues for the event.

Tournament Format

This year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be held in two phases. The 10 teams are divided into two groups of five sides each. South Africa qualified by virtue of being the hosts, while seven other sides also gained automatic qualification. Bangladesh and Ireland made it through the qualifiers.

In the first round the sides compete in a round-robin competition in their respective groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage. The knockout stage will consist of two semi-finals and the final on 26 February at Newlands, Cape Town.
