ICICI Bank launches portal about overseas banking services for students wishing to study abroad

ICICI Bank has launched a digital platform to meet the needs of students seeking higher education India and abroad. Known as ‘Campus Power’, it provides both banking and value-added solutions at one place, eliminating the need for students to interact with multiple stakeholders. It is available to anyone including customers of other banks.

The initiative helps users locate financial products matching their needs ranging from bank accounts including overseas accounts, education loans and its tax benefits, forex solutions, payment solutions, cards, other loans and investments. It also provides information on value-added services related to higher studies in India and abroad including Canada, UK, Germany, USA and Australia, claims the bank.

The empaneled partners provide value-added services on courses, universities, destinations, admissions counselling, exam preparation, overseas accommodation and travel assistance. The bank has also set up a branch at IIT Kanpur and seven more will be added in the campuses of top premier institutes across the country.

Services include funding education, assistance with locating courses and universities, helping students prepare themselves for tests, offering debit/credit cards, and creating an overseas student account. To support the child’s education journey, ‘Campus Power’ provides education loan and remittance services to parents. Apart from this, they have other solutions in terms of savings accounts, investment products, travel and health insurance.

We have taken an in-depth look at the education lifecycle to understand the diverse needs of students at different stages of their lives. We have learned from our research that students, their parents and institutions are faced with the challenge of interacting with multiple stakeholders to resolve the issues related to their higher studies. This becomes important with the increasing number of students pursuing higher studies in India and abroad. Hence, we have decided to launch ‘Campus Power’ to bring all education-related services under one umbrella,” said Sudipta Roy, Head-Unsecured Asset, ICICI Bank.
