II PU Exam: Dakshina Kannada emerges as Karnataka PU topper

Among the districts of Karnataka, Dakshina Kannada with 88.02% students passed the second PU exam, followed by Udupi topped the score card with 86.38%.

In the last examination result also both the districts were on top of the table. In the examination conducted for the academic year 2019-20, both the coastal districts jointly got the first position with a pass percentage of 90.71.

In the 2018-2019 exam results, Dakshina Kannada district stood second with a pass percentage of 90.91 and Udupi stood first with a pass percentage of 92.2.

A drop in pass percentage was observed in many districts. Bengaluru South was ranked fourth with 76.24 per cent, down from 77.56 per cent earlier. A similar decline was observed in Uttara Kannada from 80.97 to 74.33% and in Bengaluru North district from 75.54% to 72.01%.

There was an improvement in the performance of many districts. Vijayapura, which was last in the 2019-20 academic year, secured the third position this year with 77.14 per cent.

Chikkodi educational district also secured 11th rank with 68% compared to its earlier 63.88%, Koppal from 60.90% to 62.04% and Kalaburagi from 58.27% to 59.17%. Raichur increased from 56.22% to 57.97%.

Chitradurga performed poorly this year, finishing last in the list with 49.31%. 30 in this district in the academic year 2019-20 th Ranked out of 32 in the rank list with 56.80%.
