The Chief Guest and Director (Strategic Projects), Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Commodore, for the closing ceremony. Giridip Singh (Retd.), spoke about the importance of empathy in business leaders and the skills required to thrive in the current dynamic business environment. He encouraged the participants to maintain the network built during the training and share the insights gained at their workplace.
Director, IIM-Vizag, Prof. M. Chandrashekhar quotes Amita Chatterjee, member of the Institute’s Board of Governors, from her book – “Joyful Living: Reflections of a Happy Soul” as saying that ‘the most important qualities 4T’S possess are – Truth, thoughtfulness, unity and tenderness.’
Professor Chandrashekhar said, “The amalgamation of these qualities will help an individual to perform well in an organizational context.” He asked the participants to apply the knowledge gained from the training to the challenges of the workplace.
Sharing the experience of customized training programme, Gaura Kishore Nanda of HSL said; “The information gained from the program was insightful and informative as we could look at issues from a fresh perspective and think of possible management principles to help solve existing problems in the organization.”
Another participant Sushil Kumar explained how he can gain knowledge and learn various topics ranging from strategic planning to marketing which will be beneficial in his field of work.
A third participant, Sudhir, also supported the usefulness of the MDP and how all the management topics were delivered in an interesting manner, asking for more.
The five-day program led by Prof. Balaji Subramaniam and Prof. MV Anuradha covered all the typical functions of management with special focus on topics like Project Management, Contract Management, Design Thinking, Innovation, Client Management, Communication, Stress Management. and mutual effectiveness.
