IIM Vizag records 100% placement, highest package at Rs 23.5 lakh – Times of India

Visakhapatnam: Despite the enormous challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the final placement season of the Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam (IIM-Vizag) has successfully completed with 100% placements for the sixth year in a row.

The institute of national importance also broke its previous record for getting the highest average package at 14.6 lakhs per annum (16% from last year) and average 15 LPA (25% from last year). The highest salary package stood at Rs 23.5 LPA, which is 13% higher than the previous season.

Director, IIM-Visakhapatnam, Prof M Chandrasekhar said that recruiters from across the industry reinforced their belief in the distinctive quality of students of IIM-V. “They offered higher packages for coveted roles, pushing annual packages north. The lucrative opportunities offered to students are a good cause for celebration, with the top 50% of students receiving an average package of 16.7 LPA (11% from last year). The top 25% have got an average package of 18.07 LPA (up 5% from last year) and the top 10% have got an average package of 20.13 LPA (up 7% from last year),” said Prof Chandrashekhar. “The Institute attributes the success of this placement achievement to the unwavering support of its esteemed employers, the effort and determination of its Student Placement Committee as well as the potential and enthusiasm of its students. Held on a rolling basis, the placement season saw over 75 companies participate in the process and 40+ new employers with multiple offers across various domains including Consulting, Strategy, Finance, Product Management, Sales & Marketing, Human Resources, Information roles were offered. Technology and Analytics, etc. There has been a huge increase in the number of employers willing to partner with the institute, which is an indication that it has made rapid progress despite the challenges posed by the pandemic,” said the IIM-Vizag director.

This year, banking, financial services and insurance sectors (31%) bet big on new talent, followed by IT/ITES (26%), consulting (25%), e-commerce (7%), manufacturing (5%). ), and FMCG (3%).
