The Center for Science and Society at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal has invited applications for a five day short summer camp at its campus. The summer camp for students of classes 9 to 12 will begin from May 16 at the IISER campus in Bhauri, Bhopal and will continue till May 20.

Candidates can register for the camp online at IISER website on or before 15 April. According to IISER Bhopal, the aim of the summer camp is to enable the participants to understand the central role of science in society. Students will be introduced to a range of topics in the natural and engineering sciences through lectures and laboratory exercises. Exposure will also be complemented with critical perspectives from the humanities and social sciences. The participants will get a chance to interact with the senior students on campus through various recreational activities.

Click on Summer Outreach Camp 2022 link available on the home page and then click on ‘Click here’ for online registration.

There are limited seats in the summer camp and candidates will be selected through a screening round on the basis of merit and representation from various schools. The list of selected candidates will be shared online on the Institute’s website after completing the screening process by April 22. After initial screening, selected candidates will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 2000 through SBI iCollect.

This registration fee will include the food and accommodation expenses of the participants during their stay. The camp will also have on-campus doctors (24 hours) to ensure the individual health and well-being of all participants

IISER Summer Camp was suspended in March 2020 after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The summer camp was to be held from May 11 to May 16, 2020, but had to be canceled due to the deteriorating pandemic situation.
