IIT Delhi professor formulates guidelines for sustainable disposal of medical waste

In a new study, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Dr Surya Prakash Singh, Professor, Department of Management Studies has highlighted how hospitals can choose a clean and sustainable way of disposing of medical waste. It paves the way for facilitating hospitals with a real-time decision support framework considering several criteria and constraints for selection of healthcare waste disposal firms.

This study identifies ten key success factors from literature and field surveys for selecting the best healthcare waste disposal firm. Firm’s experience, technology for disposal, and waste collection infrastructure act as a factor in selecting a health waste disposal firm.
