IIT-Madras placement season 1st day: Students get 176 offers, highest ever – Times of India

CHENNAI: The placement season at IIT-Madras for 2021-22 started off with a bang as students received 176 job offers, including 11 international offers, during the first session of the first day on Wednesday. This is the highest ever number of appointments in the first session on the first day. Altogether 34 companies participated in the first session.

Last year 22 companies made 123 offers in the first session (1.1).

Key employers for this year’s first session include Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Bajaj Auto, Bain & Company, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Boston Consulting Group, JPMorgan Chase & Company and McKinsey.

The students received 231 pre-placement offers during 2021-22.

CS Shankar Ram, Advisor (Placement and Training), IIT-Madras expressed hope that they will continue to hire more students in the next few days in jobs that meet their aspirations.

The second slot of Day 1 Placement (Session 1.2) is being conducted on Wednesdays from 4 PM to midnight. Altogether 32 companies are recruiting for 68 profiles. These companies include Amazon, Grow, Flipkart, Intel, Samsung and Twitter.

The first phase of placements is expected to continue till December 10.

A total of 1,498 students have registered for placements in 2021-22 in various streams of study. The total number of companies registered for Phase I placements is 382. They will recruit for a total of 738 profiles.
