IMD has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in this state till Tuesday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an orange alert for 5 districts of Kerala following heavy rains in many parts of the state. Orange alert has been issued for Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod.

It issued an orange alert for the above five districts and Malappuram for Monday and nine of the 14 districts in the state for Tuesday.

IMD It also said that wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph and gusting to 60 kmph is very likely to occur along Kerala-Lakshadweep-Karnataka coasts till July 7 and fishermen have been advised not to venture out into the sea.

Apart from Kerala, heavily very heavy rain It is expected in many states including Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over Konkan and Goa during 04-07; over Coastal Karnataka and Gujarat region on 04 and 05, Ghat region of Madhya Maharashtra during 05-07; Kerala-Mahe during 03-06 July, 2022.

During the next 5 days widespread rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy falls very likely over Central India (Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha).

There is also a possibility of scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh during 03-06; Vidarbha during 05-07; East Madhya Pradesh during 04-07; West Madhya Pradesh on 06th and 07th July, 2022.

There is a possibility of heavy rain over Jharkhand and West Bengal-Sikkim on 03rd and Odisha during next 5 days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Odisha on 03rd, 04th and 07th July, 2022.

Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Jammu & Kashmir and West Rajasthan during 05-07; Himachal Pradesh on 03, 05-07; Uttarakhand on 03rd and 04th July; East Rajasthan on 05; Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh and North-West Uttar Pradesh on 06 and 07 July, 2022. Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over East Rajasthan on 06 & 07 and Uttarakhand on 05-07 July, 2022.
