Imran Khan criticizes Pak government for ‘irresponsible statement’ against Taliban

Imran Khan insisted that Pakistan should not seek help from the US.

Islamabad:

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led government’s “irresponsible statements” against the Taliban and warned that the fallout in Afghan ties would result in an “ever-ending” fight against terrorism. There may be war.

Addressing a seminar on terrorism on Tuesday, Imran Khan talked about the criticism of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for leading the peace talks with the TTP, and said that opposition parties should “work with the people”. Shouldn’t lie to.”

He said that all the stakeholders were informed about the need for dialogue with TTP and the plan to rehabilitate their members.

Dawn quoted Imran Khan as saying, “A military operation can be part of an overall peace settlement but it never succeeds by itself.”

PTI Chairman Imran Khan slammed Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for his “irresponsible” statements about Pakistan taking action against TTP targets in Afghanistan, Dawn reported.

The PTI chairman said that if the Taliban decided to stop cooperation with Pakistan, it could result in a “never-ending war” against terrorism.

According to news reports, former Pakistan PM Imran Khan questioned the Shehbaz Sharif-led government as to why they did not raise the issue of recent incidents along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border with the Afghanistan government.

He asserted that another war against terrorism would be anathema to Pakistan if relations with Afghanistan deteriorate.

He insisted that Pakistan should not seek help from the US and warned that if drone strikes were carried out, it would lead to internal strife among the local people. Notably, the ceasefire between Pakistan and TTP was to expire on November 28, 2022.

According to Dawn, terrorist incidents have been happening in Pakistan for the past few months, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Pakistan is witnessing an increase in terror attacks across the country, believed to be planned by leaders of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) based in Afghanistan. The TTP, which has links to the Afghan Taliban, carried out more than 100 attacks last year.
