Another case of needless speed racing has come to the fore in the city, where a youth entered the super market directly from the car on Sunday night.
An employee of a supermarket located on 2nd Avenue, aged 20, was seriously injured. The victim has been identified as Haseen, who was standing outside the market. He has been admitted to a private hospital.
Thirumangalam Traffic Investigation Wing said two cars were engaged in speed racing and the driver of one car lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the supermarket.
It was night and the shop was about to close when the accident happened. After committing the accident, the accused fled the spot in another car, police said.
Police officials have traced the owner of the car which his son was driving. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
