In Chart 10: Law & Order in Uttar Pradesh under Yogi Sarkar | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: When it comes to states like Uttar Pradesh or Bihar, law and order always becomes an important issue during elections.
In fact, the law and order situation has generally been one of the key election issues for the opposition against the ruling government in Uttar Pradesh.
However, the 2022 assembly election in UP looks different. As the BJP gears up to retain power, the Yogi Adityanath-led ruling party is keen to focus on the law and order situation in the state.
The BJP has been continuously attacking its main rival Samajwadi Party over the law and order situation. From PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, everyone has attacked both Mayawati’s Akhilesh Yadav and the Bahujan Samaj Party for anarchy during their tenure.
Under the BJP rule in the last five years, Uttar Pradesh has seen some disturbing incidents like the Hathras case, which has put the Yogi Adityanath government on the defensive.
However, an analysis of crime data in the state from 2017 to 2020, compiled by the National Crime Records Bureau, shows that there has been a decline on several parameters, even as the total number of cases registered has increased.
Total crime cases in Uttar Pradesh increased from 600082 in 2017 to 657925 in 2020. There was a decline in 2018 when the cases came down to 585157.

Crimes against women have decreased in 2020 after registering an increase in 2018 and 2019.

Uttar Pradesh has seen a steady decline in the two most important parameters – murder cases and rape cases – from 2017 to 2020.

Despite registering an increase in 2018, the state has seen a significant decline in kidnapping and abduction cases from 2017 to 2020.

The cases of riots in Uttar Pradesh have seen a marginal increase in 2020 as compared to 2019. However, compared to the 2017 numbers, there has been a decline in the numbers.

There has also been a steady decline in the cases of robbery and dacoity in the state from 2017 to 2020.

The state of Uttar Pradesh has also seen a steady decline in dowry deaths from 2017 to 2020.

However, the state of Uttar Pradesh has seen a steady increase in the number of registered cases of possession of drugs for smuggling from 2017 to 2020.

While these numbers may be disputed by those in the opposition, the fact remains that these figures cannot be denied and cannot be hidden.
