In fresh letter to cadre, Sasikala criticizes ‘autistic’ leadership of EPS-OPS, urges AIADMK to unite

In yet another attack on the OPS-EPS alliance, Sahaj leader VK Sasikala wrote a letter to the AIADMK cadre, taking a dig at top officials for their “self-centred” leadership.

Urging party leaders to protect the laws laid down by AIADMK founder MGR, Sasikala reminded them of the founding ideals of the party.

The AIADMK was founded on the principle of handing over power to the common people. The AIADMK cadre will no longer tolerate working in the interests of certain people. Let us all unite to protect, strengthen the founding ideals of AIADMK,” Sasikala said in the letter.

This is not the first time that sitting AIADMK contender Sasikala has tried to reach out to the workers to strengthen her position in the party.

Earlier, in a public statement, he said: “Coming soon, to set the party on the right track. I can’t bear the fall of the party now. Everyone has to take along party style, let’s unite.” Ho”, once again fueling the rumors of a change in state politics.

After announcing that she would stay away from politics ahead of the April 6 assembly polls, Sasikala said she could not see the party being ruined because of “insiders”.

His reconsideration was prompted by his brief phone conversation with two of his loyalists, the audio clip of which surfaced and left the AIADMK in turmoil.

In the first audio clip, he can be heard saying, “We will definitely streamline the party… through the hard work of leaders including him and “seeing them fighting”, it was sad to see him being ruined for the cause of the party. Couldn’t be a mute spectator.

In October, Jayalalithaa’s longtime personal and political aide, Sasikala, unveiled a stone plaque at the MGR Memorial in Chennai’s T Nagar, identifying her as the party’s general secretary.

She heavily promoted the Jayalalithaa memorial on the beach side in Chennai after nearly 4.5 years – she stood at Jayalalithaa’s grave in February 2017 and vowed to ‘cash the party’. After a 4-year jail term for convicting Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case, Sasikala seems to be entering active politics again.
