House of the Dragon Episode 3 – now on HBO Max and Disney+ Hotstar – is, for the most part, occupied by male privilege and marriage proposals. While Princess Renera Targaryen (Millie Alcock) spent a large part of the second episode asserting herself, a literal two-year-old is now looking after the heir. It’s Prince Aegon, the first child of King Viserys (Paddy Considine) and now Queen Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey), who is pregnant with a second. (Given the boy’s age, you can tell that Episode 2 has been around for three years) A feast and a hunt are organized in Aegon’s honor, which is good for viewers as the Game of Thrones prequel series Eventually she almost leaves King’s Landing. One full episode – we only get to Kingswood – and it feels good!
it gives dragon house Episode 3 is an opportunity for two characters, Rainera, and her bodyguard, Ser Kristen Cole (Fabian Frankel) to create a mini-getaway, as the Crossed Princess runs into Kingswood. (This was definitely the best part of Game of Thrones, as at times characters with polar opposite views are combined for unexpected journeys.) Rainera isn’t okay with Aegon’s focus, especially because like everyone else, She expects her father to name the baby the new heir as he is the firstborn. He even has the title of Episode 3, “Seconds of His Name”. A gender-neutral nomenclature might be smarter, in my opinion, as it gives an indication of how Rainera feels right now.
She may be first in line to the Iron Throne, but there is a feeling around the court that Aegon now has a stronger claim because he has a penis. And for Rainyara, it’s a triple blow. He has not only lost his hold on the crown, but also on Alicent and his father. Viserys and Renera haven’t seen eye contact since she married her best friend — I mean, it makes sense — and that gap widens on House of the Dragon episode 3 when She learns that Raja is also shopping around her.
House of the Dragon Review: The Game of Thrones Prequel Is a Thing of Beauty

In House of the Dragon Episode 3 screaming at her daughter in front of everyone, “You should get married,” Rainera soon learns that the arrogant and self-serious buffoon is Jason Lannister (Jefferson Hall) – the Lord of Casterly Rock. but in this age they don’t have as much power as we know from the Lannisters game of Thrones – was only engaging her in conversation because he wanted to “take” her as his “lady wife”. In combination with the rest, it is enough to send Rainera into the wild.
While the first proposal was accepted by the King himself, The Hand of the King, Ser Otto Hightower (Rice Ifans), is bold enough to offer the second on House of the Dragon Episode 3. Otto tells Viserys that he should marry Rainera. Prince Aegon, babe. (While this may sound strange, as they are half-siblings, it was very common for Targaryens to marry within your family, as it was the royals of old in our world, This was done in the name of maintaining the purity of their blood.) But the mere age difference – Aegon is two while Rainera is 17 – is enough to send Viserys in a fit of laughter. Otto clearly has ulterior motives, as this would make his grandson king regent, or even king.
And so, when a third marriage proposal comes from Viserys’ Master of Laws and Lord of Harrenhall, Lord Lionel Strong (Gavin Spokes), a fed up Viserys believes he’s in it for himself too. . I guess, you’re going to suggest that Rainera marry her own son, the king says in several words on House of the Dragon episode 3. But it turns out, it is not so. Lionel proposes that Rainera be paired with Ser Lenore Valerian (Theo Nate), the son of Princess Renées “The Queen Who Never Was” and Lord Corliss “Sea Snake” Valerian, who has to be shifted to Stepstone in the House of the Dragon. It is seen in brief. Episode 3. Building on His Ignored Advice episode 2Lionel believes this will help bridge the gap between the two old Valyrian houses.
The clearly intoxicated Visery pats Lionel on the shoulder as he walks away, suggesting big things in store for the man who isn’t entirely interested in increasing his station.
House of the Dragon Episode 2 Review: The Old Makes Way for the New

As Viserys steps outside, his young wife Alicent joins him. And for a while it breaks down. Although he took the public position and reiterated that Rainera would be his successor – he rebukes Jason Lannister for “assuming” Aegon would replace him, and strongly notes that he did not choose his daughter on a whim – Viserys confesses to Alicent that it was at a time of weakness, when he felt that he had lost everything. “What if I was wrong?” Viserys amazes himself. Later in House of the Dragon episode 3, when he swears to Rainera that he will not be removed, King admits that he was stung at one point.
Still, Viserys has essentially given away Alicent ammunition for the latter, I might argue. And Alicent also has a stake in it. As his father Otto explains dragon house Episode 3, If Rainera takes the throne, it’s not going to be a good life for Challenger (Aegon) and his mother. Alicent’s reason – or rather Otto’s, for now – is helped by the fact that everyone around Viserys either believes or expects him to name Aegon as his successor as soon as possible. But Viserys clearly wants to stick to his choices. While Rainera felt that he was rejecting Damon and not choosing him, as she told Alicent in Episode 2, it now seems that she was thinking this way of her father.
Viserys also cares for Rainera’s happiness, as he first tells Otto, before repeating Betty in several words. Everything that is happening in all episodes in “The Second of His Name” – the widening gap between the king and his heir – comes to the fore when Rainera walks in and confronts his father, as he tries to help Damon and Corliss. Sending men for Stepstone (on the advice of the Queen). Rainera believes that Viserys wants her to be married for a watchtower or fleet of ships. The king notes that he wants her to marry in order to shore up his succession. But when Rainera reveals that she didn’t remarry for profit, Viserys agrees before asking her to look for her own man, the man who will keep you happy and strengthen your claim.
In that moment, the broken bridge between father and daughter is restored in House of the Dragon Episode 3. A smiling Rainera, comforted by the fact that Raja isn’t going to change her and cares about how she feels, walks away.

Speaking of cementing his claim, the final segment of House of the Dragon Episode 3 is dedicated to Damon (Matt Smith). It’s been three years since the troubles began at Stepstone. Damon the Rogue Prince lays siege to the Crab Feeder with the help of his dragon Carax, but the caves are keeping him safe. What started out as an attempt to qualify the daemon in the eyes of the Lords of Westeros is starting to look like a failure. On top of that, Viserys’ meager helping hand comes in the form of an insult to Damon. He wanted this war to stand as his own victory, not something that the Crown could claim for itself.
With the army’s morale dwindling, Daemon’s new strategy – first brought about by the Valerians – is to surrender himself to the Crab Feeder (Daniel Scott-Smith) on House of the Dragon Episode 3. The perverted Prince-Admiral knows this might be a tactic: to get his men out of the caves in a false sense of security. So he monitors the dragon’s movements before ordering his troops to bring the daemon. But he didn’t wait long enough, it seems. Just as the Crab Feeder feared, Carax appears at the last minute, carrying Valerian aboard. With the help of Dragon and Westeros forces, the Crab Feeder’s men are doomed – before he pays the final price at the hands of Damon himself.
The evil prince may have conquered an enemy in battle, but how will he deal with the twin threats of heir and eldest son?
