Kevin Pietersen shared pictures of his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Thursday, March 2. Sharing glimpses of their meeting on Twitter, Pietersen described Shah as a “caring” and “inspirational” person.

In one of the pictures, the former cricketer can be seen interacting with Shah. In the second picture, the two are seen shaking hands as a gesture of appreciation.

Pietersen touched in India To attend an important conference organized by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Thanking PM Modi for the kind gesture, Pietersen tweeted, ‘I have fallen in love with your country since I set foot in India in 2003. The answer was simple and was always the same – The People.

Furthermore, the veteran batsman wished the citizens of India a “Happy Republic Day” while acknowledging that it is “a proud country and a powerhouse globally.”

Kevin Pietersen has a huge fan following in India and makes sure to engage them through his social media posts. The former English cricketer often tweets in Hindi to connect with people in India.

Kevin Pietersen the cricketer said goodbye to the game in 2018. During his playing days, Pietersen toured India for several series, featuring in a total of 36 games across all formats.

The Englishman’s highest score in India came in a 2012 Test against MS Dhoni-led India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Pietersen played a stormy inning of 186 runs in 233 balls in the match. He participated in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and served several franchises till 2016.
