In Telangana “MLA poaching” case, top BJP leader BL Santhosh named as accused

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has named senior BJP leader BL Santhosh and three others as accused in the case of allegedly poaching four TRS MLAs. Officials gave this information on Thursday.

Following directions from the Telangana High Court, the SIT probing the case also issued a second notice to BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh, who is yet to appear before it.

Official sources said that in the latest notice, he has been asked to appear before the SIT on November 26 or November 28 for questioning.

Based on the investigation so far, the SIT filed a memorandum in a Special Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court here, adding Santhosh and two persons from Kerala, Jaggu Swamy and Thushar Vellapalli, besides B Srinivas as accused. matter, he said.

Ramachandra Bharti alias Satish Sharma, Nand Kumar and Singhayaji Swamy are named in the case after TRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy and four MLAs filed a complaint against them on October 26.

As per the copy of the FIR, Rohit Reddy alleged that the accused offered him Rs 100 crore and in return the MLA had to leave TRS and contest as a BJP candidate in the next assembly elections.

The Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the SIT to again serve notice on Santhosh under Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

Earlier, the Telangana SIT had issued notices to Santhosh and two persons from Kerala to appear for questioning on November 21. However, he did not appear before the probe panel. Srinivas, who was also summoned by the SIT, appeared before it.

On November 9, the Telangana government had ordered setting up of a seven-member SIT to probe the alleged horse-trading of legislators.
