New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Justice of India NV Ramana on Saturday presided over the inaugural session of the first All India District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
Organized by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the two-day event is being organized at Vigyan Bhawan. Speaking at the event, PM Modi said: “It is time for ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Kal’. It is time for resolutions that will take the country to new heights in the next 25 years. Access to justice is as important as it is.” that ease of doing business and ease of living in Amrit Yatra (divine journey) of the country”.
Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju, Justices UU Lalit and DY Chandrachud were among those who attended the event.
The aim of the meeting is to create an integrated system to bring “uniformity and synchronization” in DLSA, a press release from the event Told,
There are a total of 676 District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) in the country, each of which is headed by a District Judge who acts as the Chairman of the Authority.
