India reiterated its concern about the possibility of terrorist entities and individuals gaining access to chemical weapons at the UN Security Council meeting on Syria (Chemical Weapons) on March 01 (IST). Prateek Mathur, Counselor of India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, said, “India has repeatedly cautioned against the possibility of terrorist entities and individuals gaining access to chemical weapons in the region. India’s position on Syria-related issues The Chemical Weapons Convention. (CWC) is well known. It is our principled position that the CWC is a unique, non-discriminatory disarmament instrument for the elimination of a full class of weapons of mass destruction.”
