The Income Tax Department has launched a mobile app named ‘AIS for Taxpayers’ to facilitate taxpayers to view information available in the Annual Information Statement (AIS) or Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS). ,
AIS for Taxpayers is a mobile application by the Income Tax Department, and is available for free on Google Play and App Store. The app has been developed with the objective of providing a comprehensive view of AIS/TIS to the taxpayer by displaying information collected from various sources related to the taxpayer.
Taxpayers can use the mobile app to view Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), Tax Collected at Source (TCS), interest, dividend, share transactions, tax payments, income tax refund and other information i.e. GST data and other information. Overseas remittance available in AIS and TIS. Taxpayer can also give feedback on the information displayed on the app.
To use this mobile app, the taxpayer needs to register on the app by providing the PAN number, OTP sent to the mobile number and authenticate with the e-mail registered on the e-filing portal. After authentication, the taxpayer can simply set a 4 digit PIN to access the mobile app.
It is an initiative of the Income Tax Department in the area of enhancing taxpayer services facilitating ease of compliance.
