The BCCI on Friday shared a tweet to show its support for Pat Cummins.

Cummins, who went to Australia after the second Test, will be at home with his family during difficult times and has been ruled out of the third Test in Indore.

Cummins said, “I have decided not to return to India at this time.”

The BCCI shared a tweet on Friday to show its support for Cummins.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with @patcummins30 and his entire family at this testing time with @CricketAus,” the BCCI wrote.

Premier batsman Steve Smith will lead the Australian team in the absence of Cummins for the third Test in Indore. Smith has led the Australian team in the past, but lost his captaincy in 2018 following the infamous ball-tampering row.

Australia are desperate to bounce back in the series with the third Test match being shifted from Dharamsala to Indore. “I was very close in the last match, but I think maybe having an extra week helped a lot, so I’m 100 per cent ready to go,” Green was quoted as saying by Fox Cricket.

“I think it is just a few instances in the nets where I would probably go for the sweep and just have the jerk (injured finger) on my bat. I went to sweep on a beautiful new ball, just caught the end of it and there was a bit of pain in the back of my finger, but other than that it’s been really great over the last two weeks, I’ve got a lot of confidence in it,” he said. .
