Ishan Kishan may make debut in IND vs AUS 4th Test, while Mohammed Shami may come in for Mohammed Siraj

After the 9-wicket defeat in Indore, the place in the final of the World Test Championship is likely to be at stake with some changes in the Indian team.

Ishan Kishan could also make his Test debut after Mohammed Shami was rested for the fourth Test in Ahmedabad.

Mohammed Siraj has played in all the three Tests of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 and could be rested for the series decider, while KS Bharat can also be kept on the bench.

According to a report in the Indian Express, there are likely to be two changes in the Indian playing XI for the fourth Test in Shami and Kishan.

Team India retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 for the fourth time in a row by taking a 2-0 lead courtesy a six-wicket win in Delhi, after winning the first Test in Nagpur by 132 runs and an innings.

However, the last match saw the Indian players struggling on a rank turner and thus there could be some changes if a spot in the WTC final is given and the series is captured.

While Siraj hasn’t put a foot wrong in the series so far, Shami will have more bite with his experience in the Indian pace attack along with the impressive Umesh Yadav, Bharat meanwhile has been impressive with his gloves but his batting has left fans in splits. Disappointed.

While it would be unfair to assess Bharath’s batting on such a small sample size, Kishan could be an equal replacement for Rishabh Pant and could come in handy if the Ahmedabad pitch turns out to be another rank-turner. Smash-bang approach, given his history with the Jharkhand side in domestic cricket.

Australia, on the other hand, are likely to name the same playing XI, with Steve Smith set to lead the side again with Pat Cummins on his ailing mother’s side.

With the series still very much alive, the Aussies will be hoping for redemption, while the hosts will be eyeing a WTC final berth.
