Four miscreants have been arrested for encroaching on the ground for disrupting the match being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here in the midst of the ongoing second Test between India and Sri Lanka.

According to reports, the incident took place on the second day of the match on Sunday during the medical break of Praveen Jayavikrama due to a knee injury.

In the second Test, Rishabh Pant walked out to bat and the southpaw started off with his trademark aggressive style of hitting fours and sixes, but the match was called off for a short medical break.

According to the Bangalore Police, some miscreants trespassed during the break time. The trespassers were caught and removed from the stadium.

Later a case was registered against two adults and two juveniles at Cubbon Park PS under CrPC section. No. 24/22 u/s 447, 269, 271 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 5(1) of the Epidemic Diseases Act.

In the previous innings, India’s top run scorer Shreyas Iyer batted with Pant and took India’s second innings total of 150 runs.

Soon after scoring his half-century, Pant was caught and bowled by Jayavikrama to leave India at 189/5. Ravindra Jadeja Shreyas came out to bat with Iyer and the duo took India’s total of 199 to go into dinner to take a 342-run lead of 5 wickets.
