India expresses concern over ‘anti-India’ activities in UK, seeks proactive action – Times of India

New Delhi: India on Thursday expressed concern with UK On the anti-India activities being carried out by some extremist and fundamentalist elements from his soil, and urged the British authorities to keep a watch on such activities and take appropriate proactive action.
The matter was raised during the 4th India-UK Home Affairs Dialogue held through virtual mode with the Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla Leading the Indian side and UK’s Permanent Secretary, Home Office, Mathieu Rycroft, leading the UK delegation.
An MHA statement said the talks covered a range of issues including homeland security, cyber security, extradition requests, migration and mobility, etc. “India emphasizes the need for the UK authorities to expedite the pending extradition cases,” it said.
During the talks, the Indian side expressed concern over the anti-India activities of extremists and radical elements in the UK. Although no specific organizations or individuals were named, there is a presence in the UK of elements that are linked to Sikh Radical organizations like Babbar Khalsa International and Sikhs for Justice have been banned under the UAPA.
UK-based Paramjit Singh Pamma, who is banned under the UAPA and also an individual terrorist, is associated with the SFJ’s separatist campaign ‘Sikh Referendum 2020’ aimed at the creation of a separate Khalistan state.
The Home Ministry said on Thursday that during the India-UK talks, it was agreed to enhance security cooperation between the two countries. It said the meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to deepen security-related bilateral ties.
