India fully prepared to deal with ‘two-front’ war scenario: Air Chief

Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Choudhary on Tuesday said the Indian Air Force is committed to the theater program and the initiative needs to be taken forward considering various key aspects related to the three forces.

Addressing a press conference ahead of Air Force Day on October 8, he said that the Indian Air Force is fully prepared to deal with any security challenge in eastern Ladakh and the new infrastructure created by the Chinese side in the region will help India. war readiness will not be affected.

The Air Force Chief said India is fully prepared to deal with a “two-front” combat scenario involving China and Pakistan and the focus is on enhancing the overall combat capabilities of the IAF.

On the ambitious theater programme, he said the Indian Air Force is fully committed to it, but added that discussions are needed before the new structure can be built.

“Various options are being discussed between the three forces,” the IAF chief said.

Theater Command is being planned to integrate the capabilities of the three services and ensure optimum utilization of their resources.

He said that with the induction of Rafale jets and various weapons, the firepower of the IAF has become more powerful.

On the alleged rape case in Coimbatore, he said two fingers were not tested and disciplinary action would be taken against those found guilty in the investigation of the case.
