“India must say we have to fix this”: Old video surfaced amid UK crisis

An old video by South African comedian and talk show host Trevor Noah in which he suggests India is a “Britain colony” has resurfaced amid the political crisis in the United Kingdom.

British Prime Minister Liz Truss, had already come under much scrutiny after Home Secretary Suella Braverman resigned. Braverman, in his resignation letter, criticized the current British government’s handling of the economic crisis.

Amidst similar political turmoil in Britain, an old clipping of Noah’s ‘The Daily Show’ has gone viral on social media. In the video, Noah suggests that in order to get matters under control in Britain, one of “their old countries” should colonize it.

“At this point, things are so bad in Britain, I think one of their old countries should just colonize them,” Noah says. “Look at these wild animals, they don’t know what they’re doing.”

“Someone should just come in and bring stability. India should come to England and be like, ‘Look, look, look, we hate to do this but you guys don’t know how to control yourself’,” Noah says in the video. “We have to fix this whole thing.”
