India have overtaken Pakistan in the latest ICC ODI Team Rankings after an emphatic 10-wicket win against England in the first match of the ongoing ODI series.

The Men in Blue, who were placed fourth with 105 ratings points before the match against England, have slipped to the third spot with 108 ratings points, leaving Pakistan behind with 106 ratings points.

New Zealand is at the top of the table with 126 ratings points, while England is at the second position with 122 ratings points.

England fell to their lowest total (110 runs) against India in ODIs on Tuesday (July 12) thanks to Jasprit Bumrah’s six-wicket haul. Other members of the Indian bowling attack rallied around Bumrah as Mohammed Shami took three wickets and the famous Krishna took one.

Bumrah’s 6/19 against England is now the third best ODI figure for an Indian. Before him, Stuart Binny took 6 for 4 against Bangladesh in 2014 and Anil Kumble took 6 for 12 against West Indies in 1993.

In reply, Rohit Sharma (76*) and Shikhar Dhawan (31*) shared an unbeaten 114 to give India a 1-0 lead against England in the three-match series.

Rohit and Shikhar entered the record books as they became the fourth opening pair in ODI history to complete 5,000 runs together.

They became only the second Indian opening pair after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly to cross 5000 runs in ODIs. Tendulkar and Ganguly, who opened the innings between 1996-2007, together scored 6609 runs.
