India Post has changed in the last 8 years to provide government services to the common man: DPIIT Secretary

New Delhi Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) Secretary Anurag Jain on Monday said that India Post has undergone a metamorphosis in the last 8 years to deliver government services at the doorsteps of rural masses.

Geographical Indications: A souvenir sheet of 12 postage stamps on agricultural goods was released by DPIIT Secretary. Speaking on the third day of AMRUTPEKS 2023 – National Philatelic Exhibition, he said that GI signs are a great tool to enhance the income of farmers, weavers and artisans.

Jain appreciated that the Department of Posts has taken up the challenge of email and technology based communication with great agility and competence and improved its delivery mechanism. “The modern postman has played an important role in the implementation of the Jan Dhan Yojana.”

Vineet Pandey, Secretary, Department of Posts said that India Post of new India is ready to serve the nation with digital infrastructure along with huge workforce of Karmayogis. “India Post is partnering with various Ministries of Government of India in better implementation of various schemes and programs especially in the far-flung areas of the country.”

The third day of Amrutpex 2023 saw the participation of over 2000 school students and their participation in various workshops such as story telling, stamp collection with envelope art, and paper crafts.

A Kavi Sammelan was also organized in which prominent poets of the day participated and entertained the participants of the exhibition. A huge crowd attended the Kavi Sammelan to honor the India Post occasion, and the day ended with a mesmerizing performance by Piyush Mishra of Ballimaran Band, which attracted a large number of spectators in one go.
