Jiali Zheng gave China the lead in the 26th minute, while Vandana Katariya equalized for India in the 45th minute.

The Indians had the better share of possession in the first two quarters and had more chances but their efforts did not result in a goal.

The Chinese, on the other hand, waited for retaliatory strikes to breach the Indian defence.
In the ninth minute, Navneet Kaur along with Vandana Katariya scored the first shot, but her effort was saved by Chinese goalkeeper Liu Ping.
India came close to scoring in the 23rd minute but the goalpost came to China’s rescue. From the resulting rebound, Jyothika looks to have found the net but the target was denied after a referral.
Soon after, India secured their first penalty corner but failed to capitalize on it.
China took the lead against the race, playing through Jialli Zheng, who shot Savita Punia after receiving a pass from Xindan Zhang.
Two minutes later, India earned another penalty corner, but Monica’s attempt was saved by Ping as China went into the half-time break with a thin goal lead.
China came on an aggressive note after a change of ends and secured their first penalty corner in the 33rd minute but Bingfeng Gu’s blow was widened.
In the 42nd minute, India secured one penalty corner after another but lost both.
Seconds from the end of the third quarter, Vandana deflected in Gurjeet’s flick as India drew level from a perfectly executed penalty corner.
India dominated the fourth quarter as they went on the offensive in search of a winner but failed to find the back of the net.
China took the lead late and secured another penalty corner in the 54th minute, but India defended well as both the teams registered their second consecutive draw in the tournament.
India will play their last pool match against New Zealand on Thursday.
