India vs England: Indian players test Covid negative, 5th Test likely to go ahead as scheduled Cricket News – Times of India

MUMBAI: The entire Indian team has tested negative for COVID after reports of fresh RT-PCR tests conducted on Thursday morning came around 5.30 pm UK time (10 PM IST).
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is of the view that should the report be negative, the Indian team should play the fifth and final Test of the series which currently stands beautifully 2-1 in India’s favour.
An internal BCCI meeting was underway at the time of filing this report and the Indian Cricket Board may soon convey its decision to its English counterparts.
Panic was brewing in Team India’s camp when the team’s assistant physiotherapist tested positive on Wednesday evening. The Indian team on Thursday canceled their training session and went into a quarantine by locking themselves in their respective rooms at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.

The entire camp heaved a sigh of relief when the report came negative and are ready to go for the Test match if both the cricket boards decide to finalize it.
Hope to get a call soon.
