Birmingham (United Kingdom): Joe Root England has joined a select group of players after scoring 737 runs in England’s drawn Test series against India.
The former England captain ended the campaign with an unbeaten 142 with a Yorkshire teammate Jonny Bairstow (114 not out), he guided England to chase down their highest fourth-innings target of 378-3 during a seven-wicket win in the Covid-delayed fifth Test at Edgbaston on Tuesday.

With this win, England leveled the five-match series at 2-2.
In the 145-year history of Test cricket, only four other England batsmen have scored more runs than Root’s tally in this campaign.
