With Team India leading 63 runs at the end of the third day, fans and experts were left in praise Akshar Patel to take his five-wicket haul against New Zealand in first test match going on in kanpur on Saturday. It was the all-rounder’s fifth five-wicket haul in four Tests and even his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin was impressed. Speaking through BCCI, veteran Ashwin decided to ask Axar about the mystery behind his delivery and he got a funny answer. “You spin the ball a lot and so it beats the batsman. My ball doesn’t twist that much. It turns a little so it’s enough to take the lead”, quipped Axar, when his spin was struck by his low. Partner asked about delivery.

India ended the third day with a score of 14 for one in the second innings at stumps, taking a 63-run lead. Earlier, New Zealand could only manage 296 runs in reply to India’s 345 in the first innings.

Axar was in fine form for India, dismissing Tom Latham (95), Ross Taylor (11), Henry Nicholls (2), Tom Blundell (13) and Tim Southee (5).
India are looking to build a big lead in their second innings on Sunday.
