Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam dominated Pakistan’s proceedings to hand them over to command against India in their T20 World Cup campaign-opener in Dubai. Chasing a target of 152 runs, the Pakistan opener looks comfortable as the Indian bowlers continue to look for success. Earlier, Virat Kohli scored his 29th fifty in T20Is before being dismissed for 57 by Shaheen Shah Afridi as India posted 151/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Afridi was on fire as he sent back openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul before Hasan Ali removed Suryakumar Yadav to get Pakistan off to a great start in the match. Kohli hit five fours and a six in his innings. Rishabh Pant also scored 39 runs in 30 balls, which included two fours and two sixes, before the dismissal of Shadab Khan. Hardik Pandya failed to go in the death overs but India managed to cross the psychological 150-run mark. Kohli dropped Ravichandran Ashwin, Rahul Chahar, Shardul Thakur and Ishan Kishan from the playing XI, with Varun Chakraborty forming the line-up. Team India will be hoping to seal a win and give their campaign a good start against a top Pakistan team that has multiple match winners.
