Indiabulls Housing Finance, Vodafone Idea among 4 stocks under F&O ban on NSE

Four shares have been banned for trading by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, December 23, 2021, under the futures and options segment. According to NSE, security under the F&O segment has been banned as they have crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL).

Indiabulls Housing Finance, Vodafone Idea, Escorts and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) have been banned for trading by the National Stock Exchange (NSE) under the Futures and Options segment on Thursday, December 23, 2021.

NSE said that the derivative contracts in the security mentioned below have crossed 95% of the market-wide position limits and they are currently placed in the ban period.

“It is hereby informed that all clients/members shall trade in derivative contracts of the said security to reduce their positions only by way of offsetting positions. Any increase in open positions will attract appropriate penalty and disciplinary action, NSE said.

The market-wide position limit or MWPL is a limit that defines the maximum number of unsettled options contracts for a given derivative stock. Currently, the MWPL for Indian derivatives stocks is 95%. No fresh positions are allowed for any F&O contract in that particular stock under the F&O restriction period.
