Leicester: Indian cricketers, including captain Rohit Sharma and opener Shubman Gillarrived at the nets here on Monday ahead of the rescheduled fifth and final Test against EnglandStarting 1 July in Birmingham.

Rohit, who was rested for the T20I series against South Africa at home, defended a few deliveries on the front foot while also playing pull shots against short deliveries. Gill was also seen working on his game during the batting session.

India will be here for a week and will play a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire from June 24.

This will be the first time that Rohit will be leading the team in Test cricket abroad.

India’s tour of England consists of three T20Is and as many ODIs, and the visitors will play two warm-up matches against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire before the white-ball series.
