The Netherlands team put India under early pressure by earning their first penalty corner just minutes after the start of the game. After that, both sides stepped up their attacking efforts to chase down their first goal, but were unsuccessful as the first quarter drew to a close.
Unlike the previous quarter, India were aggressive in the second and were rewarded for it, winning their second PC in 10 minutes. The Netherlands squad earned a PC a minute later but were unable to convert it. He did not have to wait long for his first goal, as Belen van der Broek scored on a PC in the 26th minute. Beauty Dungdung leveled the match in the 29th minute after India won the PC. A minute later, Dutch obtained another PC, which was converted by Amber Brouwer, putting them ahead at the half-time break.

As the third quarter began, India attempted to boost their attack in search of an equalizer while the Netherlands were looking to double their lead. Despite being in the lead, the Netherlands team started the final quarter of the game aggressively, earning their first PC of the fourth quarter in five minutes.
