Indian Rail: Following a notice issued by the Ministry of Railways, the Government of India has recently launched a special drive to make Indian Railways 100% paperless in an effort to reduce paper wastage.

The Ministry of Railways decided to launch a special initiative called Abhiyan 2.0 in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of emphasizing cleanliness everywhere, reducing pendency of public grievances and enhancing workplace culture.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Railways, the program was so successful that a follow-up campaign called “Special Drive 2.0” was launched in September with a wider scope and goal to further promote cleanliness and good governance in all areas of the country. work across the country.

Keeping in view the presence of Indian Railways across the country, the Ministry of Railways had established a very wide spectrum for itself in all aspects of its operations as per the guiding principles of Special Drive 2.0.

The cleanliness drive, which focused on mechanized cleaning of stations, cleaning of trains, and the collection and safe disposal of plastic and other debris, carried out work at all 7,337 stations, a significant task in itself. The Prime Minister also appreciated the Bangalore Railway Station for one such effort.

Several awareness initiatives, such as “Nukkad Natak” (street shows), were organized across the Railways as part of Special Campaign 2.0. As per reports, these initiatives were not only effective but also left a lasting impression and were highly received by all.

Development of IT applications for online processing and disposal of VIP (MP/MLA) references and Parliamentary references, such as those undertaken during Zero Hour and by MPs in Parliament under Section 377, is one of the additional initiatives taken during this period. Is. this campaign.

The Ministry of Railways has also decided to do away with paper-based operations completely starting from November 1. All business processes will be digitized, and work will be recorded electronically using the e-office system of the Railway Board office.

It is noteworthy that from 1st November, Indian Railways will adopt the file work of Railway Board office using the e-office system.
