A total of 16,83,81,389 people in the 45-59 age group have received the first dose of vaccine so far and 8,70,47,204 have received both the doses.

A total of 33,26,503 beneficiaries were vaccinated with the first dose till day-276 of the vaccination campaign and 46,47,932 beneficiaries received the second dose as per the provisional report till 7 PM.

The daily vaccination numbers are expected to increase with the compilation of the final report for the day by late night.

This comes as India is on the verge of achieving the 100 crore milestone in its vaccination campaign this week.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed confidence that India’s vaccination program will prove to be most effective in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic and said everyone’s participation in it is important.

He remarked after Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s tweet congratulating the people of Uttarakhand that the state has given the first dose of vaccine to all eligible persons.
