IndiGo employee heard ‘explosion’ when alarm sounded, security threatening

In a strange case of sheer misunderstanding, an airline employee mistook the word “explosion” for “explosion” to scare the security at Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj International Airport, leading to a sound of alert at the establishment, officials said. Officials informed. on Friday.

Airport officials noted that the incident took place on Thursday morning, and in a statement, airport officials said, “At 095, the IndiGo ticket counter to inquire about ballast in Agra bound flight 6E-7931 Received a call, which was misunderstood as Indigo staff blast. BATC (Bomb Threat Assessment Committee) was called and after analyzing the facts, the call was declared non-exclusive.

Additionally, the airport’s acting director Amrit Minz said that as soon as an emergency was declared at the airport, all security systems were activated to breach the security, noting that, “unfortunately, there is a high speed movement.” The vehicle was passing through a tire killer when the emergency tire killer switch was activated and blocked the vehicle.” The Acting Director further added that, “The airport management expresses regret for the inconvenience and damage caused due to this unfortunate incident.” Interestingly, the word ballast, which means extra weight, is a term used by airlines to add load to aircraft. According to the news agency, there should be enough passenger weight in the flight to maintain balance in the air. PTI report good.

Meanwhile, an airport employee said on Friday that since the woman employee had joined recently, she was unable to differentiate between the ballast and the blast, leading to confusion. He said the call had come from Gurgaon. “Though ballast is a widely used term in aviation and railways, it is difficult for a newbie or layman to understand the difference between the two,” he said. No action has been taken so far in this matter.

In another development, earlier this week, an IndiGo flight from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai was halted after take-off due to a technical snag, an Airport Authority of India (AAI) official said. He said that the plane returned to Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj International Airport after taking off due to a bad morning. There were 183 passengers on board, out of which 117 were canceled on a Delhi-bound flight and accommodated in another flight in the evening, the official said.
