Indore was declared India’s cleanest city for the fifth time in a row in the Central Government’s annual cleanliness survey, the results of which were announced on 21 November.

Surat and Vijayawada bagged the second and third positions respectively in the ‘Cleanest City’ category of the ‘Swachh Survekshan Puraskar, 2021’.

Varanasi has been adjudged the “Cleanest Ganga City” in the survey announced by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Chhattisgarh has been declared as the cleanest state of India.

President Ram Nath Kovind presented the awards to the winners on 21 November.
