“Indrajit As Aquaman”: Prabhas-Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush Triggers Meme-Fest On Twitter

Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan starrer Adipurush releases in theaters on June 16. Soon after the release of Om Raut’s film, social media users flooded Twitter with reactions. While some expressed how much they loved the film, others were not so convinced.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film earned Rs 37.25 crore on the first day. The film opened to largely average reviews from critics.

However, the film has received mixed reviews and heavy trolling from internet users. One user wrote, “Modern hair-cuts, tattoos, cheap animations and cringe dialogues. Adipurush is the All India TikTok Association meeting.”

Another Twitter user complained about Indrajeet’s distinctive tattoo. “Is Indrajit or… Tattoo artist from South Delhi?”

The third user wrote that Prabhas’ character in the film is similar to Jesus. “Om Raut booked a seat for Hanuman ji in every theater and made him see Jesus instead of Lord Ram.”

Another user wrote, “Better #VFX than #Adipurush.”

A fourth user wrote, “Visionary director Om Raut represents Indrajeet as Aquaman in Adipurush.”

Adipurush is based on Ramayana and features Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sunny Singh as Shesh and Devdutt Nag as Hanuman. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist Lankesh. The film was released across cinemas in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

The film was earlier scheduled to release on August 11 last year. However, the makers changed its release date to avoid clashing with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, for which the actor thanked the makers of Adipurush.
