On April 9, 2023, Army personnel engaged a group of terrorists in an encounter after they attempted to sneak into this side from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.
Officials said the infiltration bid in Shahpur sector was foiled when army personnel guarding the LoC detected the movement of terrorists in the early hours and challenged them.
There was exchange of fire between the two sides which continued for a long time, he said.
Officials said the entire area has been cordoned off and a massive search operation is on.
