maruti suzuki is in the works to introduce a new look for baleno On February 23, and a few days back a teaser video was released revealing the addition of a new feature called Heads-Up Display (HUD) by the company. We also exclusively revealed some more new features of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift, including 360-degree camera, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and suzuki connect Connected-car technology with Alexa voice commands.
Now, Maruti Suzuki has released another teaser video of the 2022 Baleno facelift revealing its free-standing ‘SmartPlay Pro+’ infotainment unit. The infotainment system will also have surround sense powered by ARKAMYS. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are already being offered with the existing Baleno, but the facelift will likely offer wireless support for both the platforms.
It is to be noted that the complete equipment list of 2022 Baleno is yet to be revealed. However, it is safe to assume that the new model will be far better equipped than the model it is set to replace. Upon arrival, the facelifted Baleno will become the technically best Maruti Suzuki car in the market. This will help it go neck and neck against the likes of Maruti Suzuki hatches Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz As far as facilities are concerned. Traditionally, the Baleno has outperformed the i20 in terms of features, but this time around it is set to narrow the gap significantly. That said, the new Baleno will still not get a sunroof, which is a very popular feature among Indian buyers and is offered in the Hyundai i20.
In the next few days, Maruti Suzuki is expected to reveal more new features as it tries to build some momentum before the price is revealed.
The price of the pre-facelift Baleno currently starts at Rs 6.14 lakh (ex-showroom), but we expect the hatch to become costlier once the update is done. However, it is still expected to undercut its biggest rival – the Hyundai i20.
