Instagram testing notes: How the new ‘missing messages’ feature will work – Times of India

instagram Have started testing another new feature with select users. It allows users to share content that is missing on the platform. The new feature under consideration here is called Notes and as the name implies, it lets users post quick notes to their close friends, followers, etc.
The feature was first spotted by marketer Ahmed Ghanem and according to a report, the Notes feature on Instagram works like a disappearing message which automatically disappears after 24 hours. These notes will appear as a new line above Messages in the Direct Messaging section of the app. Shared notes also have a ‘+’ button that allows other users to add them which can be shared with all messages.
The report further states that notes are limited to 60 characters and users do not have any notification set for them. However, users will be able to reply to the shared notes as messages.
While the idea of leaving a note isn’t new, it can come in handy in situations when you don’t want an important message to get lost in the middle of an ongoing conversation.
It is important to note that the feature is currently being tested by Instagram with limited users. There is no information yet on when it will arrive on the final version of the app.
