Institutes of the University of Pennsylvania hold a symposium on the future of India

The University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Advanced Study of India (UPIASI) in collaboration with the Center for the Advanced Study of India (CASI) on Tuesday organized a meeting to discuss India’s future trajectory on political, economic and foreign policy fronts. India’s G-20 Sherpa, Amitabh Kant delivered the keynote address highlighting India’s green growth story and focus on digital, public and quality infrastructure. He talked about the future of India in a changing and uncertain world order as well as the priorities of the G-20.

There were three panel discussions in the seminar. Prominent experts in attendance included Hrishikesh T. Krishnan, IIM Bangalore; C. Raja Mohan, Asia Society Policy Institute; Sanjay Kumar, Center for Study of Developing Societies; and Harsh Pant, Observer Research Foundation.

UPIASI and CASI, both part of the University of Pennsylvania, are celebrating their 25th and 30th anniversaries, respectively. Both are engaged in bringing together scholars across disciplines and creating a forum for exchange of ideas and meaningful debate.
