In a written reply to a question whether the government has any plan to integrate AYUSH knowledge into the curriculum from the school level, AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, “Yes, the implementation committee of the National Education Policy, 2020 has been constituted by the department. Higher education includes experts from the Ministry of AYUSH.”
“As per the implementation committee meeting held on July 19, 2021, an action taken report has been shared by the Ministry of AYUSH with regard to inputs for the implementation of the new education policy,” he said. “In addition, a team of experts from National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), a deemed-to-be university under the de novo category, conducted courses on Ayurveda and Yoga for school children from class 1st to 10th/12th The roadmap has been prepared, including nursery, LKG and UKG levels, which have been sent to the Department of School Education and Literacy,” Sonowal said.
Asked whether the government has developed immunity boosting kits to protect children up to 16 years of age from Kovid-19 till a vaccine is available, the minister said the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has developed immunity to the disease. ‘Bala’ has been developed. Defense kit for children of this age group.
This kit has been made under the strict guidelines of the Ministry of AYUSH. It fights against common infections and keeps babies healthy. Sonowal said that the kit contains Anu Tel, Samshamani Vati and Chyawanprash besides syrup Bal Ayu Raksha Kwatha (contains base) which has medicinal properties.
He said that it has been manufactured by Indian Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited, a Government of India undertaking at its plant in Uttarakhand.
