With many people waking up to a cup of tea every morning, this drink is of great importance across the world. Such is the popularity of tea that the United Nations General Assembly designated 21 May as International Tea Day.

  1. Kashmiri Afternoon Tea
    This variety of tea from the northern region of Kashmir has a pink tint. It is considered to be authentic Kashmiri tea, prepared by infusing green tea leaves with cinnamon, cardamom, and nuts including pistachios and almonds. Along with this, a pinch of salt is also added to the chai.
  2. Gujarati Ukado
    Ukado is a herbal tea from Gujarat that works as a home remedy for common ailments. It contains ingredients like honey, lemon, ginger and mint which help in boosting immunity while giving a pleasing taste to the drink.

  5. Mangalorean Butcher
    This unique tea is herbal and has significant health benefits. Mangaloreans consider it their ‘kadha’ which contains cumin, coriander, fennel and fenugreek. These dry roasted spices are boiled with water and sweetened with a little sugar or sugar candy.
