Interview | Siddhant Chaturvedi on ‘The Depths’

With Gehraiyaan, the actors are turning away from stereotypes, leaning into ‘real’ narratives, and letting director Shakun Batra’s collaborative process hone their craft.

The Hindu Weekend Spoke with 26-year-old actor Siddhant Chaturvedi via Zoom depthsThe promotions for the film were starting and he was still looking for the right words to describe the film.

“It’s a relationship drama, but unlike anything you’ve seen before,” he says. “We called it the longest domestic noir and it didn’t even have a title until much later because it’s so new and fresh.”

depthsPrognostic Dharma Productions directed by Batra, which has Deepika Padukone and Ananya Pandey, the third film Chaturvedi. Actor Zoya Akhtar’s Alley Boy (2019) in the MC started a dream as the lion – who has achieved his dream of a career to help his anger Murad channel Ranveer Singh and hip-hop.

When I met him a few days after the release of that film, he was still astonished to process all the praise that came from his side. Chaturvedi frequently used the word ‘real’ during that conversation and almost three years later, the sentiment has not changed for him.
